En el peor desastre humanitario que ha azotado al país en décadas, más de 1.900 personas han muerto —incluyendo a nueve miembros de la comunidad judía—, más de 50.000 están desaparecidas entre casi 800 edificios colapsados, y 1,8 millones necesitan urgentemente ayuda humanitaria para salvar sus vidas, de los cuales más de un tercio son niños.
