Survivors in Colombia
The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Inc., JDC, is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, contributions to which are deductible for federal income tax.
Right now, JDC is working with the Colombian Jewish community and local partners to provide essential supplies like food and hygiene kits to victims of the devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake.
Following the strongest recorded earthquake to strike the country this century, at least 181 people have been killed, with many more injured and casualties expected to rise as search and rescue operations continue. With hundreds of buildings having collapsed completely, and more than 1,500 others damaged, a national emergency has been declared.
Donate now to help earthquake survivors in Colombia.
JDC’s emergency response team is also assessing emerging needs together with local and global partners, leveraging our decades of experience working with the Colombian Jewish community and responding to natural disasters across Latin America and the Caribbean to deploy vital relief.
